Bike Trips
Moving around the Gargano by bicycle, between the sea and mountains is something else entirely!

EXCURSION 1 – BETWEEN THE SEA AND MOUNTAINS
The route: two days for those who love to pedal hard whilst at the same time immerging themselves in the wildest and most uncontaminated nature.
Facts: over two hundred kilometres divided into two stages, to be covered in two days. Stage one starts from the sea arriving after continuous ups and downs due to the many hills, at the heart of the mountain, in the Umbra Forest, approximately 80 km. Stage two leads to Rodi Graganico, along a path almost entirely downhill, just a healthy stroll. The second stage is less demanding. Recommended ratios … 42 * 21-23.
Fuelling: for the first stage the route offers the chance to have a break in the Umbra Forest, where it is almost obligatory to stop for a picnic or for a snack. As for the second stage, refuelling depends on the departure time. Upon arrival, a visit to one of the excellent restaurants in Manfredonia is recommended.
EXCURSION 2 – RIDING WITH FRIENDS
The route: we start and return to Peschici after 40 km of roads which are among the most beautiful and evocative of the entire Gargano. A splendid sea, fragrant hills, evergreen pine forests. The panorama from Torre Monte Pucci is remarkable, just one of the many coastal towers on the headland.
The route has also been designed for those who intend to cycle using a simple sports bike. There is some slight difficulty only in the first few kilometres, the rest of the itinerary allows you to appreciate the many beautiful landscapes of the area.
Boat Trips

Directly from Pugnochiuso or Vieste you can take boat trips to visit the most captivating sea caves of the Gargano, between the luxuriant nature and the clean and crystalline sea, along a tall coastline that hosts countless caves that are true wonders of enchantment and wonder.
EXCURSION 3 – FROM VIESTE AND MATTINATA
From Vieste there are boat trips to visit the numerous caves on the Gargano coast between Vieste – Peschici and Vieste – Mattinata, between the luxuriant nature and the crystalline sea, whose tall coastline hosts countless caves that are true wonders of enchantment and wonder.
The fishermen had fun baptizing these caves giving them the most curious names, of which: Sfondata cave ( Open cave), Campana (Bell cave), dei Contrabbandieri (Smugglers cave), la grotta dei Due Occhi (Two Eyes cave), Dei Colombi ( Dove cave), dei Pipistrelli ( Bat cave), the Grotta Calda (Hot cave) or delle Viole(Violets cave), della Tavolozza ( Paletted cave), delle Sirene( Mermaid cave), dei Sogni and del Faraone ( Dreams and Pharaoh’s caves), the grotta Smeralda (Emerald cave), dei Marmi and del Serpente (Marble and Snake caves).
EXCURSION 4 – THE CAVES
Among the major karst phenomena of the Apulian coast are the caves, sculpted by the work of thousands of years by rainwater and by the corrosive activity of the sea. The evocative scenery of caves, chasms, sinkholes and overhangs is made magical by the reflections of light on stalactites, stalagmites and ravines.
